Remote Technologies
Our Data Control Server (DCS) is an operating system for wide range of our
products. The DCS platform features several software servers that provide
various remote connectivity scenarios. Our intend is to allow easy, secure data
transfers as well as remote administration for configuration and
troubleshooting.
The standard servers include:
- Telnet Server - used administration
- SSH Server - used for administration and data transfer via scp
- FTP Server - used for data transfer
- WEB Server - used for administration and data transfer
- Firewall - used to enhance security
The embedded WEB server comes with on-line pages to do some basic
administration. The WEB Server can also be used to download the data log files
and the user is free to customize the web pages to his/her needs. Therefore,
the user ultimately decides which services to run and how.
In a protected LAN, all services may be open and allowed to run. When connected
to Internet and behind a hardware firewall, the included firewall may be turned
off. However, if not used in wider public range, the access to TELNET, SSH and
FTP should be restricted to administration hosts only.
